Itinerary
Tour Guests will arrive at Guwahati Airport as per their scheduled flight. Upon arrival, they will meet the Veena World tour manager at the airport and proceed to Shillong, Meghalaya’s capital. En route, we enjoy the view of beautiful Umiam Lake. In the evening, all guests will have a short Meet & Greet session.
Today we visit the Cathedral of Mary, Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls, and Ram Krishna Mission. We also visit Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls – the tallest plunge waterfall in India. In the evening, we have free time to enjoy shopping at the local market.
Night Stay in Shillong
Today we proceed to Jowai to explore and experience something new. Try your hands at paddy farming. The locals take us around the fields and show us some farming techniques. We then have a chance to try our hands-on guitar and some singing. Take a walk in this beautiful quaint town and engage with the locals. We spent the night in a homestay at Jowai.
Today we head towards Dawki to see the crystal clear waters of the Dawki river and enjoy boating on the river. Dawki lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is famous for a suspension bridge over the Umngot River (commonly known as Dawki bridge) constructed by the British in 1932. We also visit the India – Bangladesh border at Tamabil. In the evening, we have free time for relaxing and exploring the surroundings.

Today, we start our journey to Cherrapunjee. En route, we visit Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village. Mawlynnong village has been awarded as the ‘Cleanest Village in Asia.’ Next, we see the Balancing Rock and the Living Root Bridge – centuries-old bridges grown from tangled roots. Walk around the beautiful village; you’d spot thatched Khasi huts along the way, bamboo dustbins throughout the village, and every house containing beautiful gardens adorned with pretty flowers. Later we proceed to Cherrapunjee.

Today’s journey is full of places to admire. We start with the Nongriat Trek, a very scenic as well as an adventurous one. You’d be crossing many suspension bridges and root bridges along the forest trail. The Double Decker Root Bridge would be the highlight. Sit by the Double Decker root bridge and soak in the raw beauty of nature. If you enjoy swimming, do not forget to bring your swimwear with you. You will need them when you find the kid inside you unable to hold back from jumping in the turquoise blue natural pools.
Night Stay in Cherrapunjee
Today morning we visited the Mawsmai caves. Later we proceed to Shillong. Upon reaching Shillong, we see the Police Bazar area and indulge in some street shopping, and hit the pubs and cafes in Shillong on our own.
Today we proceed to Guwahati. It’s time now to say goodbye to our travel companions. Tour Guests will proceed to Guwahati airport as per their scheduled flight and start their return journey home. Tour Concludes.
